Tuesday 8. November
We will meet in Akita for a welcome dinner (we have reserved several hotel rooms and will provide information about this after registration). The best is to take the train from Tokyo to Akita (4 hours).
Wednesday 9. & Thursday 10. November
We have a Team Norwegian booth at the exhibition in Akita, and we also have access to meeting rooms for B2B meetings. We will be helpful in connecting participants with Japanese stakeholders. This means that we connect the participants with the right people in Japanese companies, but that further agreements on B2B meetings are agreed individually. We will therefore not arrange B2B meetings following the event, but at that time you will have already contacted the right companies/people. The Exhibition itself is not large, but there are quality companies/people from Japanese stakeholders who will be present, and we will help connecting to them.
FYI: Global Offshore Wind Summit 2022 has two events: A conference and an exhibition. These are in 2 buildings next to each other. Everyone must buy a ticket to the conference, while the exhibition is free to enter.
Japan is aiming for GHG net zero by 2050 and the construction of 1GW offshore wind annually to 10 GW by 2030 and 30-45 GW of mixed fixed and floating wind under development by 2040. The first auction round was concluded earlier this year, totaling 1.7 GW, with a Mitsubishi led consortium winning all three projects. While the results surprised the industry, the 2nd auction is already under way with scheduled announcements in December this year.
