Markets
Emerging market in our “backyard”: From an almost standing start, the Irish government has set a target of 5 GW of offshore wind by 2030. With the passage of the Marine Area Planning Bill in December-21, a critical development in the progression of Offshore Wind projects in Irish Waters, developers of up to 4.2GW of fast-tracked projects in Ireland are actively progressing a successful ORESS (Renewable Electricity Support Scheme) outcome. This development is good news for the Norwegian supply chain.
Perfect timing for “Route to market”. This is an excellent time for Norwegian companies to engage with key players in the Irish Offshore Wind market. Developers of these ‘Phase 1’ fast-tracked projects include the Codling Wind Park - a 50/50 joint venture between Fred. Olsen Renewables and EDF Renewables. With an estimated total installed capacity of between 900 MW and 1,500 MW, when operational, Codling Offshore Park will be the largest offshore windfarm in Ireland.

As a pre-event opportunity we will visit Cork on the 31st May (flying into Cork no later than the evening of May 30th) and travelling on to Shannon Foynes the morning of the 1st June. Home to Shell and Simply Blue’s Emerald project, a proposed 1GW floating windfarm, as well as a significant industrial development in Shannon Foynes; this optional pre-event visit will provide delegates with more detailed information about floating wind opportunities.
Norwegian partners can provide a wealth of knowledge and offshore experience needed to deliver bottom fixed offshore wind structures and to make a positive contribution to the future floating wind industry in Ireland.
Norwegian - Irish Offshore Wind Forum
1st June at 14:00 until 2nd June at 12:00
Meet with RWE, EDF Renewables / Fred Olsen Seawind, Statkraft, Simply Blue and Ocean Winds, as well as other developers, supply chain companies and decision makers in Dublin on 1st and 2nd June. It will be a programme rich in content to allow for good discussions with potential clients and partners alike.
We especially encourage companies with the following features to join us:
Tier 1 System providers: Meet the wind farm developers and understand their “pain points” and assess the Irish ecosystem of suppliers.
Tiers 2 and 3: Better understand the pain points of potential customers and to meet industrial partners and potential customers and suppliers in Ireland.
Ports and infrastructure: Assess the potential for strategic partnership in the Irish market and meet industrial partners and potential customers and suppliers.
We will be organising business meetings with developers and supply chain companies, enabling participants to discuss offerings and technology with client counterparts.
