PV Development in Poland

Solar Power

The recent development in solar power plays an important role in decarbonization of the Polish energy sector which is strongly dependent on coal. During 2021 the total installed capacity in PV doubled, reaching 7,6 GW, while the total turnover in the PV market in Poland exceeded 2 billion EUR. This development has been mainly driven by the prosumer market thanks to state subsidies for micro-installations. Presently also the number of large-scale PV projects is growing. The total PV capacity in 2025 is expected to reach 15 GW. Norwegian companies that have products, services and system solutions for the solar power sector may take advantage of this development.
