The delegates will have a possibility to meet the project owners and other important stakeholders active in Phase I and Phase II of development of the Polish offshore wind sector, as well as representatives of the local OW supply chain.
The programme includes meetings with leading OW operators and their key suppliers, scheduled B2B meetings, and other networking opportunities.
The PWEA (Polish Wind Energy Association) Annual Offshore Wind Conference is an important platform for establishing and tightening cooperation between all stakeholders of the offshore wind energy market - investors, contractors, suppliers of services, and politicians. PWEA releases important industry announcements regarding recent policy updates, technology, and the OW supply chain.
According to PWEA, the total capacity for OW development in Poland is 33 GW. Poland’s offshore wind targets set by the government are 11,5 GW. Within the framework of Phase I, five project owners (Equinor with Polenergia, PGE with Ørsted, Orlen with Norland Power, Ocean Winds and RWE) have been awarded in 2021 CfDs for a total capacity of 5.9 GW.
As for Phase II, the Ministry of Infrastructure selected in 2023 two developers that are winners of 10 new location permits for OW farm construction, PGE and Orlen, who were awarded 5 sites each, allowing for construction of additional approx. 9 GW in total.
From 2025 onwards, an auction platform will be used for awarding CfD to the developers holding OW location permits. The auctions will be held in 2025 and 2027, with a granted support for offshore farms in Phase II for a total capacity of 5 GW. An amendment to the Act on RES proposed by the government aims at changing this scheme to four auctions offering a total support of 12 GW (for the 2025 and 2027 auctions 4 GW each, and for additional two auctions in 2029 and 2031- 2 GW each).
