Director - Renewable Energy
Energy security is one of the most important issues raised by all the countries in the Baltic region. Development of offshore wind is the key not only to reaching the increased power demand and climate goals but also an important step towards strengthening energy independence, especially in the new geopolitical situation caused by Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Join the Norwegian delegation to Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, and meet the developers, key stakeholders for offshore wind development, the main industry leaders and policy makers in Finland and the three Baltic states.

Delegation Programme
Last year triggered an increased pace of development in offshore wind in the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea.
Lithuania has just launched its first tender for 700 MW, expected to be fully commissioned by 2030, and another one of the same capacity will be launched in autumn this year.
Estonia has a large offshore wind project pipeline (11 GW) in 4 Baltic Sea areas that will be put up for auction in September. The winners of this auction will play a key role in Estonia’s energy future.
Latvia is speeding up the work with the necessary legal framework to catch up in offshore wind development with its neighbours. Latvia together with Estonia are establishing a joint ELWIND wind farm of 1 GW near the Gulf of Riga, planned to be commissioned in 2030.
Also Finland is an interesting new offshore wind market, planning to tender 6 GW in 2023-24. Two OW farms located along the country’s west coast are intended for tendering already in autumn this year, and additional three more next year.
This development opens market opportunities for Norwegian companies offering products and services to the offshore wind sector.
