Australia is all about gas with close to 600Tcf of identified resources. Australia’s gas resources include conventional gas resources and unconventional gas resources such as coal seam gas, tight gas and shale gas. Most of Australia’s conventional gas resources are found in the giant Carnarvon, Browse and Bonaparte basins, which are located off the northwest coast of Australia. Other offshore petroleum areas include the Otway, Gippsland and Bass basins and the Great Australian Bight west of Adelaide.
