Value proposition
The Always Clean Cooler System (ACS) is a subsea cooler that mitigates any formation of wax and hydrates. As wax and hydrates are the main challenges in flow assurance, the ACS can eliminate the need to use insulation (and or direct heating) and production chemicals.
Today, transport of oil beyond around 50 km is technically and economically unfeasible. The ACS enables extended reach and can allow development of resources that today are too far away from infrastructure and too marginal to justify a platform or FPSO.
Also, for areas with no infrastructure, the produced fluids can be processed on land (like Snøhvit and Ormen Lange does for gas), instead of offshore facilities.
The technology is often referred to as Cold Flow.
