Siemens Energy’s Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS) is a backup power system that can replace duty/standby power generation equipment or entirely replace such units. BESS provides high reliability power supply capacity with no loss of availability to production operations and can replace conventional redundancy in standby equipment. This enables a reduction in operations and maintenance costs as well as GHG savings of up to 20% by allowing powerplants to run in N-mode instead of (N+1) mode - with further significant cost savings depending on the existing equipment configuration.
