Technology readiness (TRL)
Nordic Electrofuel will utlize renewable electricity, hydrogen and CO2 to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). We aim to procide a scalable and viable solution for decarbonizing aviation while usine existing infrastructure. Out cost-efficient Power to Liquid (PtL) technology, with high GHG avoidance can reduce carbon emissions immidiately.
Plants and projects Our first plant is located at herøya Industrial Park in Porsgrunn, Norway. The E-fuel pilot plant is designed for a yearly production capacity of 10 million litres of synthetic fuels, resulting in a reduction of the CO2 industrial footprint by 25000 tonnes anually. E-fuel pilot will come into full operation in 2027 and demonstrate significant advantages compared to other technologies with lower TRL, inkl lower CAPEX and OPEX, and less risk for carbon formation and metal dusting.
Our development plans and ambitions are to provide a capacity of 1 billion litres in 2033. Therefore, we will scale our next facilities of 100-200 million litres of annual production.
