Taiwan has 16 of the top 20 best offshore wind farms in the world and more international offshore wind developers and key players have entered and established themselves in Taiwan. Enter into Taiwan’s round 3 offshore wind projects, the first 3GW auctions in Q3, 2022 will be for projects constructed in 2026 and 2027. A second 3GW will be auctioned off in 2023, for construction in 2028 to 2029, and third 3GW will be auctioned in 2024 for 2030 to 2031. The plans to allocate the last 6GW to be completed before 2035 have yet to be decided.
Up to end of June 2022, six major developers, including Swancor, CIP, Northland, Ørsted, Wpd, and Taiya Renewable Energy, have a total of 13 wind farm projects sent to the EIA, of which six projects have passed the preliminary EIA review.
In this webinar, NORWEP Partners will get an overview on the upcoming round 3 auction and construction schedule of the ambitious15GW projects as well as learning the important resources, technologies and solutions the Taiwanese developers and industry is seeking for international cooperations. We also invite a new developer, Taiya Renewable Energy to meet with NORWEP Partners. Taiya has announced the development of potential 5 offshore wind farms with total 3GW, the first one with fixed buttom bidding 2022 and the next looking into floating wind solutions bidding in 2023.
