Gunn Vik
Executive Vice President - Hydrocarbon & Emission Solutions
In conjunction with official visit to Kenya and business summit we are heading an Energy Industry Seminar with focus on renewable energy.
Kenya and Eastern Africa are interesting markets for Norwegian companies with focus on renewable energy. The situation around official tenders and development of PPAs (power purchasing agreements) is challenging, but the C&I market (corporate and industry) is growing.
There is great activity around off-grid solutions at local health centers, schools and public buildings in areas where the national grid is not developed.
The seminar focusing on how Norwegian solutions can be of interest within: major infrastructure projects within hydropower and solar energy, solutions for C&I where polluting diesel generators are replaced with solar energy and/or batteries. Including customized solutions for the agriculture sector, solutions for “the last mile” – villages and infrastructure outside the official power grid and incorporation of fintech solutions.
