Markets
There are about 287 mature fields in Brazil, 77 (27%) being offshore, where 24 (31%) are operated by independent oil companies and 53 (69%) operated by Petrobras. Of these 53 fields, 8 are being divested and 29 is in process to returning to ANP.
The independent oil companies are expected to invest US$ 10 Bill in projects up to 2027 to increase the production of the assets, which may reach the peak of 485 K bpd in 5 years.
This is a significant volume for oil companies investing in projects to revitalize the production. Petrobras is also expected to go through campaigns for their mature fields.
To kick off OTC Brasil 2023, Norway addresses two main challenges for the O&G industry in the years to come: how to extend production, while being carbon competitive.
Join for our CCUS and Life Extension Seminar to explore cutting-edge technologies and strategies to address the challenges of climate change and extend the lifespan of crucial assets.
