The ongoing importance of decommissioning activities in the UK and industry forecasts predicting spend of £19.73bn between 2022-2031 (with £1.83bn spend per year up to at least 2025), 48% of which will be spent on well P&A. Forecasts also indicate that over 2,100 wells will be decommissioned over the next decade.

Additionally, the UK regulator is continually looking for overall reductions in per well P&A costs, driven by innovation, new technology and operational efficiencies. Therefore, the UK market is continually looking for well P&A solutions and Norwegian companies can clearly play a leading part in delivering innovation and efficiency.

With this in mind, NORWEP is hosting a well P&A Workshop with a number of partners on 26th September at the Village Hotel in Aberdeen, with the intent to showcase Norwegian P&A capabilities. The workshop is sponsored by Odfjell Technology.

The Workshop will be followed by an early evening drinks reception in collaboration with Nordic Scot Business Network.
